Adviser, partner & coach
My name is Wim Moerkerk, founder of Moerkerk Mediarelaties. I hold a Master’s Degree in Dutch Language and Literature and have been working in the field of financial journalism and communications for 25 years. After graduating from the University of Amsterdam in 1996, I took up a post as a journalist for the Amsterdam Stock Exchange news service. Following the merger with Betten Financial News in 1997, I was promoted in 2001 to Editor-in-Chief of Betten Beursmedia News. I moved to Amsterdam-based SPJ Financial & Corporate Communications in 2006. As partner at the agency, I specialised in media relations for large public and non-public companies, both on an ongoing basis and in connection with high-profile cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
In 2019, I stepped down from SPJ and left the world of multinationals. After a brief sabbatical, I decided in 2020 to focus on what I enjoy most: putting my expertise and experience to work for young innovative enterprises. I’ve chosen to concentrate on these new enterprises because I’m inspired by their enthusiasm and drive. Plus I’m convinced I can create genuine added value for them both as an external communications adviser and, above all, as part of the team serving as a partner, coach and mentor. The aim: to work in partnership to tell your company’s distinctive story and to build a strong reputation in the media.
